The Medispec EM1000 is an Electromagnetic Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripter that effectively treats urinary calculus and ultimately presents a quieter operation. With one of the largest focal zones in the industry combined with high bar pressure, the EM1000 provides enhanced fragmentation and dramatically reduces the negative effects of respiratory excursion during treatment.
The heart of the EM1000 is the high voltage generator with an electromagnetic source using spark-gap technology. Each shock isgenerated by allowing a high current pulse to flow through an electromagnet coil, resulting in an electromagnetic force (EMF) at the output. Not only is the system quieter, there is no need to replace electrodes, making it a low-maintenance device.
